Engineered for creators and developers

Fast in your browser. Private by default.

Four decisions shape the engine: most work happens on your machine, the tools open without ceremony, nothing is kept, and everything exports in a format you can ship.

Local performanceWork starts instantly

Colour tools, the resizer, the diff checker and password generation compute in your browser with Canvas APIs. The optimizer and converter stream uploads to a short-lived private working directory for encoding; the downloader fetches public page URLs on the server.

Selected workflow

Gradient Generator

Build polished linear, radial, conic and repeating gradients, then copy production-ready code without leaving the browser.

Open tool
  • Three preset moods

Start with a normal, transparent or creative gradient and shape it to fit the page.

  • Layered compositions

Stack gradients, tune opacity and blend modes, and build richer backgrounds than a single colour sweep.

  • Fine-tune every stop

Adjust colours, stop positions, angles and gradient centres in the live editor.

  • Optional animation

Switch motion on when the design needs it, then preview and adjust the result.

  • Useful export formats

Copy CSS or export Tailwind, SCSS, SVG and a standalone HTML version.

  • Preview while you work

See the full gradient surface update as colours, layers and settings change.

Three things that hold for every tool here

Free browser tools, and how they behave

Short desk notes rather than endorsements — each one can be checked against the tools themselves.

Image compression
Shrink a photo to a fraction of its weight and still ship it sharp. PNG, JPG, WebP and AVIF, up to 20 images at once, each one compared side by side against the original before you download it.
Compress an image
File sharing
Send a 5 GB file without an account and without an inbox limit. Recipients get a link, a six-digit key they can be read out loud, or a QR code that opens the download straight on a phone.
Send a file
Where your files go
Resizing, colour work, CSS gradient building, diffing and password generation stay in the tab. Image uploads are streamed through a private temporary working directory for encoding, then removed after the response. Files you deliberately share through FileDrops are the only files kept beyond processing.

The short answers

Frequently Asked Questions

Ten things people ask before they start, answered properly rather than briefly. Still curious after these? The contact page reaches a person, not a ticket queue.

How do I compress an image without losing quality?

Open the image optimizer, drop your file in, and move the quality slider until the size and the sharpness balance the way you want. You compare the compressed result against the original side by side before downloading, so you can see exactly what the saving costs. It handles up to 20 images at once at 10 MB each, and exports PNG, JPG, WebP or AVIF.

How do I share a large file without an account?

Use FileDrops. Upload the file, then send it whichever way suits the situation: copy the link, read out the six-digit key so the recipient can type it in themselves, or let them scan the QR code straight from a phone. Files can run to 5 GB each with a 10 GB ceiling per drop, and you can pull everything down as one ZIP up to 512 MB.

How do I convert a PNG to JPG?

The image converter turns PNG, JPG, WebP, AVIF and GIF into one another, and accepts HEIC/HEIF inputs for conversion to those outputs — 30 conversion pairs in all. Choose the pair you need, drop in files up to 24 MB each, and download the converted set or take everything as a ZIP. Animated GIFs keep their animation, and transparency is flattened only where the target format cannot hold it.

Is it safe to use an online password generator?

The generating happens entirely on your device: every password comes from the browser's own cryptographic random source, so nothing is requested from us and the tool works with the network switched off. If you choose to keep one in the Vault, it is encrypted with AES-256-GCM before it is stored, so what sits in the database is ciphertext — though saving is a server round trip by definition, and the tool never requires you to.

How long do FileDrops links stay alive?

You choose at upload: one, five or seven days. When that window closes the link and the six-digit key both stop working automatically, and you can shorten the window or kill a drop early from the dashboard at any time.

Are uploaded files private?

Most work happens in your browser — resizing, colour tools, code diffing and password generation never upload anything. Image compression and file conversion stream uploads to a short-lived private working directory for encoding; the output is streamed back and the working files are removed when the response finishes. FileDrops is the exception by design: it stores the file so someone else can collect it later, which is why drops expire and can be deleted early.

Do I need to create an account?

No. Every tool on the site runs without signing in. An account is only for keeping something between visits: your saved passwords, saved code comparisons, colour palettes, and the FileDrops dashboard where you manage the drops you have running.

Are the tools free, and are there limits?

All of them are free, with no daily cap and no paywall on the tools themselves. The limits that exist are technical rather than commercial — 10 MB per image in the optimizer, 24 MB in the converter, 5 GB per file in FileDrops — and they are stated on each tool before you upload anything.

Can I use these tools on a phone or tablet?

Yes. Every tool is built to work on a touch screen, and FileDrops is designed around it: the QR code exists so a phone can open a shared file by scanning rather than typing. Nothing requires a desktop browser.

What should I use first?

If you are preparing a website, start with the image optimizer and then the resizer. For design work, Palette Studio builds and exports palettes while the color name finder identifies a colour from a code, picker or screenshot. FileDrops handles getting the finished files to somebody else, and the password generator covers the account you are about to create.
